I've got the same problem when upgrading from AO 1.4.13 to 1.4.14. Reason was, that in the saplogon.ini configuration all the server name descriptions (tag [DESCRIPTIONS]) were stored twice (once at the beginning and once at the end of the file). Since this is wrong, I deleted the doubled tag [DESCRIPTIONS] and voilà, it was working again.
