Keep in mind that on-prem data will need to remain on-prem. In this case, the data must remain in AWS which leads you to having to work on the VM running on AWS where your HANA sits.
An alternative would be to play with the new SQL driver, it has HANA data acquisition abilities. I am planning on playing with that driver.
