right, this is what I have meant by "if you do not want to change standard customizing"... :-)
Instead of changing standard customizing, we rather create own copy of the partner function and adapt it. The 0*14 is used among others standard document types.
You can do it this way, of course. Upgrades and patches will not affect this customizing, as they are always delivered to client 000. However, you may expect that some other standard scenarios will not behave as anticipated.
One direct impact is in creating records in index table CRMD_ORDER_INDEX, which is used for searches. If you save any document (not only lead), where you have partner function 0*14, it will create, among others, record, where PARTNER_NO will hold employee BP number and PFT_8 = 'X'.
Now, after your change, records will PFT_5 = 'X' filled. This might confuse some searches, i.e. activity monitor, agent inbox and so on.
General recommended approach is that if you touch any standard customizing, make own copy and try to isolate the changes from other objects.
